Sunday evenings are made for relaxation. This online Gentle Hatha and Yoga Nidra class is for you if you are looking for a calmer, more serene way to complete your weekend.
During the class you will experience classical Hatha Yoga postures that have an emphasis on relaxation and rejuvenation. You will also experience Yogic breathwork to bring balance and harmony into your body and mind.
The magic at the end of this class is the full 30 minutes deeply relaxing and restorative Yoga Nidra.
The intention of this class is to leave you feeling calm and deeply relaxed so you sleep more soundly in preparation for the week ahead.
What to expect in this Gentle Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra Class
- There are Gentle Hatha Yoga postures (asana) that will gently stretch your body to release any tension or tightness held in the body. During the class we encourage you to practise with awareness so that you can listen to your own body and the information it is giving you.
- Yogic breathing practices (pranayama) that are balancing and at the same time initiate a sense of calmness. You will learn breathing practices that also aid for a good night’s sleep.
- Yoga Nidra a systematic deep relaxation practice ideal for managing the symptoms of stress and insomnia.

As with all the classes we teach, there is an emphasis on cultivating awareness When you are aware, you are present to the information your body and mind is giving you. From the sensations in your body, to your thoughts and emotions.
It is these components and the way we practise asana that make this system of yoga ideal for anyone who is managing the symptoms of a modern lifestyle such as of stress, anxiety or overwhelm.
One of the things that defines this style of yoga is that the teacher rarely will demonstrate or practise with the student. There is no physical contact or physical adjustment to any postures during class and the instructions and adjustments are given verbally.
This class is suitable for students from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners.
